How can you participate?
Just pray! Then report the “prayer miles” covered by you or your prayer group on our MMPW pedometer. Simply fill in your “Email” address (it will not be shared with anyone); your “Display Name” (this is what others will see on our list of prayer partners and may be a personal name or the name of your prayer group or church); and then the total number of miles you are reporting. You may report miles as often as you or your group prays. You will be able to watch your total personal or group miles grow, as well as the grand total miles all of us are prayerwalking together.
Each mile represents twenty minutes spent by an individual in intercessory prayer for spiritual awakening and life-transforming revival. To report prayer miles for a group or even for an entire local church, someone from your group simply multiplies every twenty-minute block spent praying together by the total number of persons participating in your corporate prayer time, and then reports it for you on the Million Mile Prayer Walk mileage counter.
It’s all on the “honor system.” It’s not a competition. It’s not a race to some imaginary finish line when we can all say we’ve finally prayed enough. It’s not a magical effort to make God do what we want. Recording progress for the Million Mile Prayer Walk is simply a reminder and an encouragement for more of us to pray without ceasing for God’s will to be done and for His kingdom to come.
Each step along the way, remember Jesus’ promise—“…You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
