New Starts

The Challenge

A "New Start" is any intentional effort to take the gospel to a place or people where a local church or district desires to create a sustained ministry that results in new Christ-followers and new congregations. The Wesleyan Church desires to create a revival wave of "New Starts" rolling across North America and beyond. Share your "New Start" stories here to let others celebrate what God is doing and to inspire them to greater missional fruitfulness that honors Jesus Christ.

Examples of What a New Start can be

  • A church plant or daughter church.
  • A new evangelistic Bible study in a mobile home park, high-rise apartment building, or gated community.
  • A compassionate ministry in a neighborhood or community not previously served by your church.
  • A new worship service for speakers of another language.
  • A new campus opened by a multi-venue congregation.
  • A new Sunday school class meeting in an off-site location.
  • A rural outreach center.
  • A rescue mission or soup kitchen.
  • An inner city grocery co-op.
  • A neighborhood drop-in center for at-risk youth.
  • A new church started through Global Partners in another country with your direct sponsorship.
  • Any of a thousand other creative ways Wesleyans can think of to gather people to hear and respond to the gospel.
