| The gospel is the amazing story of God’s grace transforming people with hope and holiness through Jesus Christ. It needs to be heard everywhere—but nowhere more urgently than the cities where eight out of ten Americans and Canadians live. Yet, fewer than two out of ten Wesleyan churches are currently located in major urban areas. We can—and must—do better. It’s time for taking grace to new places! No one loves cities more than God does, because they are where the most people can come face to face with Him. The urgent needs of North America’s cities must be met by our determination as Christ-followers to make Him known there. | It’s time for intensified prayer and more Christlike living. It’s time to raise up a desperately needed generation of new urban missionaries. It’s time to strengthen existing congregations; to expand our soulwinning effectiveness; to train new church planters and lay ministry leaders. It’s time for us to make these things happen by giving together in the 2011 Easter Offering for North American Missions. If it didn’t matter, we wouldn’t ask.
